Velara exists because the Maldives deserves a thoughtful guide, not an aggregator. The list is short on purpose.

Who We Are

A small team, deep relationships, twenty islands we know by name.

Velara was built from the inside out. We started with the resorts we knew, the resorts we trusted, and the relationships that meant a guest could land on a Tuesday and have their villa swapped, their dive booked, and a manta sighting flagged before dinner.

We do not chase volume. We chase the right fit. The list of resorts we represent is intentionally short, and every one is a property we have stayed at and would happily book ourselves.

Why We Created Velara

The Maldives needed a shorter, better list.

There are over 150 resorts in the Maldives, and most online "concierges" simply mirror them all. The result: paralysis, not curation. Honeymooners end up on family islands. Divers end up on lagoons with no current. Families end up at adults-only properties.

We narrowed the list by hand, around twenty resorts at a time, and built the team around that list. If a property does not earn its place, it leaves. This is the discipline a curated guide actually requires.

Are you a booking engine?
No. Velara is a curated concierge. There is no online booking, no real-time rates, and no transactions on this site. You enquire, we come back with a curated shortlist and real pricing, and we book on your behalf.
How does Velara make money if there is no booking on the site?
We are paid directly by the resorts as a preferred agent. The price you pay is the same as you would find direct, and often better through our held rates. There is no markup, and no fee to the guest.
How many resorts do you cover?
Around twenty, hand-picked across eight atolls. We have visited every one. The list is intentionally short.
Can you handle flights?
Yes. We book First, Business, and Premium Economy across all the major carriers servicing the Maldives, optimised for your seaplane connection.
What about VIP airport handling?
Included as standard for every Velara booking. Fast-track immigration, host at the gate, and lounge access at the seaplane terminal.
